From the alt.fan.pooh newsgroup on the Internet: I picked up a stuffed Roo today at a garage sale. It was sold at Sears and made by Gund. It looks pretty old. Anyone have any information on it?

Kanga's and Roo's Responses:

"Now Roo, dear, I told you not to eat so many berries this afternoon. Now look at you. You're all stuffed." Kanga was forever watching over Roo, and over-eating was one thing that Roo had been doing lately. It had been causing more and more of a strain on her back whenever Roo chose to ride in her pouch instead of hopping along beside her.

"But Mama, those berries you showed me were deee-licious. I ate and ate and ate because I couldn't resist them. There were really good." Roo's mouth and lips were still colored blue from his day of blueberry belly busting, and he had a noticeable waddle to his step with his middle a bit lower to the ground than was normal for him.

"If you keep packing away those berries without lots and lots of Tigger-type bouncing, you're going to look a lot more like a certain Orange Colored Bear we both know very well, young man." Fortunately Pooh was nowhere around, which was a good thing because Kanga would never want to hurt Pooh's feelings or make him feel self-conscious about his round-ness. As far as she knew, being round was what bears were supposed to be, but round-ness didn't fit Kanga type animals very well. It made them go splat on the down part of the hopping rather than the usual sproing.

"I'll watch myself, Mama," said Roo in a most sincere way, which made Kanga feel much better because she knew Roo's voice, and this was definitely a "Yes I will do my best" type of voice instead of the "Yes I will listen to you and ignore you" voice that Roo sometimes used.
